Christmas Lights/Wed. Blog Hop

Yes we are having our Wed Blog Hop..
but first...Christmas Lights....So much
fun! We have a tradition of Christmas
night or the night after going out & seeing
the neighborhood Christmas Lights..We
usually bring hot chocolate, blankets,
& have Christmas music playing in the car..a
wonderful family fun time!

The 1st house is our house..We have a ton of
white lights, candy canes, white deers, trees, etc.
This is about 1/2-3/4 of our front.

I love all the Christmas spirit that this neighborhood
shows each year. We love & give applause as we look
at each house that put up such a wonderful display
of lights for all to share in..Good for them! Bravo!!

Christmas Tour 2010 (Fam. Rm. Tree)

Here is the last of our Christmas Home Tour..
Family Room & 2nd Christmas Tree..Hope it
inspires..
I love good buys!!.I got this 7 1/2' tree w/lights
a few yrs ago @ Target for $20! It is easy to put
up & take down..I love it..
These are big beautiful stockings I had
made 34 yrs. ago..They still are as great
as when I first ordered them..

I made dough ornaments many yrs ago. I did
not make this one but love it. We have a
mixture of handmade/old fashion ornaments
on this tree. There are many cross-stitched
ones too. These are some of my favorites I
love to reminisce about each year.

I love our mechanical Santa..He has been
a part of our Christmas for many years..
He hasn't changed a bit in all these yrs..

(In Photo Below)
Here is the tree all 7 1/2 feet of it. We
always have red bows/Angel on top & red/
white fur tree skirt...I love the old fashion
look..
It reminds me somewhat of the
ornaments when I was growing up..Our
tree however was always a Charlie Brown
type for a few dollars..I always thought it
was beautiful..I guess because of all the
love that it received...It looked like the
Rockefeller Center tree to me...My parents
always made things wonderful even if we
did not have as much as others.

Hope you enjoyed the tour of 2010.

Christmas Tour 2010 (Favorite Things)

Happy Dec. 26th!! Hope you all had a magical
Christmas with the ones you love! I did!

I wanted to continue with our Christmas Home
Tour with some of my Favorite things I love to
put out at Christmas time. I hope it will give
some inspiration to all of you who like to craft..
Especially...That you can do anything!!

(Below) is a picture of our Family room coffee table
with a Big Black wooden "Blessings" sign & "Believe"
Blocks I made last year. I love them.
The pic. (below) is of a favorite Christmas Quilt I
got years ago..The Stocking were Hung..I made
a couple of years ago to sell. I love the homeyness
of the Stockings/Quilt..

This is my Choir Angel Girl that is on on our
Fireplace Mantel..
This is the Choir Angel Boy on the other
side of the mantel.. I bought them at a
Christmas Boutique years ago..I have
treasured them ever since.
(Below) are a few things on the fireplace..a large
lamb/cat/quilt I made & a glass Jingle all the
way cube my daughter-in-law made me last
Christmas.
These 2 strip quilted pillows (below) I had made
about 33 yrs ago believe it or not. I love them
now as much as I did when I asked a lady to
make them for me..(I started crafting soon after)

Bathrooms can be dressed up for Christmas
as well. A small tree here..some silk flowers
there..some JOY silver letters...a Christmas
wall hanging heart quilt...

Even a hallway can give inspired thoughts to
your guests...This is a big oval cross stitch
that I look forward to putting up each yr.
Below is The Snowmen Quilt I hand-stitched a
number of years ago. Don't you love the feel of
a hand-stitched quilt??
This is one of my Favorite little "Peaceful"
spots in our home..The end of the hallway
where the "Atonement Tree" is displayed
with all the "Gifts" that our savior has freely
given to each one of us...Hope..Love...Joy...
The Atonement....I got the idea a couple of
yrs. ago seeing a dear friends atonement
tree/gifts...Don't you love the idea???

This is one of our extra bedrooms..I love the
Christmas Quilts on all our beds..It's so festive.
One thing I love to make is take Red pillowcases
& put contrasting print ruffles/binding tape sewn
on them..They're just fun to sleep on them! Hope you enjoyed our tour...Family Room/Tree tomorrow..

Christmas Tour 2010 (cont.) Kitchen & Blog Hop

A Few days to go..I still have lots of things to do..
How bout you? Welcome to our Wed. Blog Hop...
Before we do our "Walk of Fame" & Blog Hop I
thought I'd continue our Christmas Tour (we will
visit the Kitchen area & get a Easy Fun Recipe
for an ICE RING (Below)

We always have a Christmas party Buffet Dinner
for about 40 people..One of the most festive ideas
I know to dress up a punch & Bowl is to have an
ICE RING floating on the top of the punch..Take
a look below & see what you think?

All you need is:
bundt/angel food type pan
7 up or ginger ale
silk or plastic flowers/berries/holly
orange slices

Take the pan & pour 7 up or ginger ale
(whatever will go with the punch your
serving) to make it 1/2 full. Add holly,
flowers/berries whatever..fill a little
more to push flowers down (they most
likely will float to the top but that's ok.

Gently place in freezer (make sure it's
on a level place) Freeze overnight. When
punch is made place a hot washcloth under
the pan or put pan in a small amount of
warm water just to loosen it to float on
top of the punch..add slices of oranges
& wait for the compliments..

One of the best things about this is that the
punch won't be watery..

Here is a picture of the kitchen at our party.
I love the red kitchen curtains..It really changes
the whole feeling of the kitchen into Mrs. Claus'
Kitchen.

Some of our desserts at the party.

This is the Gingerbread wall..I love this wall..
It has sorta evolved thru the yrs.

This is the Santa & Menu wall..Also countdown
calendar.

This is a close up of my Christmas dinnerware..
Alpine Village (They no longer make it)
It's displayed in our China Hutch..I love our Christmas
kitchen
This is part of the gingerbread collection (on top
of the refrigerator)
Our 2' Gingerbread Baker "Got Milk"?

Mr. & Mrs. Claus (out of Terra cotta flower pots)
I made & sold these yrs. ago
I love this Gingerbread Blvd. Sign...

I love this gingerbread bag holder..It's
so fun..

This is looking from the kitchen into the family
room. We have a artifical tree in the Family Room
but a real on in the Living Room.
Even a picture of gingerbread boys can make
a cute addition to my gingerbread wall.

This photo of an Alpine Village I absolutely love..

I Love my Christmas Apron I made..
(about 10 yrs. ago)I wear it all year long!!
This is my 2' Candy Cane out of fabric..
I have made these for many yrs. I love
them...
I just put up this "kissing ball" this yr. I have
always had the garland but the kissing ball
really adds something..Don't you think?

I love my Countdown Calendar..I made & sold
these yrs. ago..
This is my "Mop Angel"
Hope you enjoyed the continuing tour..
